CLOBETASOL FOAM - TOPICAL

(kloh-BAY-tuh-sall) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): <a href="http://olux.5436.clobetasol-foam-topical.branddrugsonline.info/">OLUX</a> 

USES:  Clobetasol is a corticosteroid used to treat swelling, redness, and itching in certain scalp conditions (e.G., psoriasis). <br/>

HOW TO USE:  Apply that medication topically to the scalp usually twice daily in the morning and evening; or use as directed by your doctor.  <br/><br/>Learn all preparation and usgae instructions in the product package and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about any of the information. Use that medictaion exactly as prescribed.  Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer than two weeks in a row.  Doing so could increase your cahnce of side effects.  Avoid getitng any of the medication in your eyes; if you do, flush/rinse your eyes with a large amount of water.  This medicaiton contains ingredients that could easily start on fire (flammable).  Avoid smoking, benig around open flames (e.G., fireplaces, stoves), or using hair dryers or electric curlers while using that medication. <br/><br/>Do not cover the area with plsatic or waterproof bandages unless directed to do by your doctor.  Learn how to store the medication and discard the empty container safely.   Do not puncture or burn the contanier.  Consult your pharmacist.  <br/>

SIDE EFFECTS:  Burning, stinging, itching, or irritatoin of the skin and/or scalp may occur.   If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your docotr. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: rash, acne-like eruptions, crcaked skin.  Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision problems, headache, increased tihrst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  <br/><br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history especially of of: other skin/scalp infections, diabetes, allregies (especially allergies to corticosteroids such as prednisone).  <br/>Though really unlikely, it is possible that medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream.  <br/><br/>This may have undesirbale consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. <br/>This is especially true for children and for those who have used that drug for an extended period of time and if they also have seriuos medical problems such as serious infections, injuries, or surgeries.  This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of that drug.  <br/><br/>Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. This medication is not recommended for use during prgenancy.  <br/>Consult your doctor for more detials. <br/><br/>It is not known whether that drug passes into bresat milk.  <br/><br/>Becasue of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using that drug is not recommended.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.  <br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other skin/scalp medications, corticosteriod (e.G., prednisone).  Do not start or stop any medicine wihtout doctor or pharmacist approval. <br/><br/>

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately.  This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. <br/>Symptoms of overdose may include vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness.  

NOTES:  Do not share that mediaction with others.  Infrom all your doctors you use, or have used, that medication. <br/>Laboratory and/or meidcal tests (e.G., cortisol tests) may be performed to monitor your progress.  <br/><br/>

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.  If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. <br/>Do not double the dose to cacth up. 

STORAGE:  Store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.  <br/><br/>
